Apex, a global financial services provider, has launched a new compliance solutions service, Throgmorton Compliance Solutions.

This follows the recent expansion of Apex’s subsidiary Throgmorton, into the US, Switzerland and the Channel Islands.

Throgmorton Compliance Solutions will deliver tailored services including license applications to the Financial Conduct Authority, the National Futures Association/Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Further services will include compliance monitoring and management services, company health checks, regulatory audits, outsourced registered compliance and money laundering reporting officer functions, plus options for board liaison and training.

Throgmorton Compliance Solutions will be run by compliance professional Mel Scotland who brings 20 years of experience in compliance and regulation to the role.

Apex explained that she has extensive experience as both an in-house compliance officer and third-party consultant and has worked with a wide range of firms across a broad range of compliance and regulatory focused solutions.

According to Apex, this move further bolsters its single-source solution, delivering new and complementary services to clients in addition to Throgmorton’s well-established accounting, tax, HR, payroll and company secretarial services.

Elsewhere, Apex has made two further senior hires within its corporate solutions business.

Paul Wilden will take up the role of global head of capital markets, while Anthony Lee has joined to take up the role of head of UK listed funds.

In his new role, Wilden will report to Matt Claxton, global head of corporate solutions, based in London.

During his career, Wilden has spent two years as global head of capital markets at TMF Group, and almost 20 years at Standard Chartered Bank. He has also worked at BNY Mellon and Barclays respectively in senior global and regional roles in the capital markets space.

Meanwhile, Lee has nearly 20 years of accounting, operations and governance experience in the listed fund sector; previously holding senior positions at Cavendish Administration and then PraxisIFM Group, the latter at which he led and successfully developed a UK investment trust administration business.
