Derek Chen has been named as the new commercial director for fund services at TMF Group.
In his new role, Chen will focus on fund administration and investment structuring to help develop and maintain a network of prospects and business development opportunities.
He will report to Andrew O’Shea, global head of fund services at TMF Group.
Previously, Chen worked as vice president at Apex Fund Services and prior to that senior investment manager at Yue’an Investment.
O’Shea says that Chen’s “extensive experience” working within private and sovereign wealth funds gives him “unique insight to our clients’ needs”.
“Derek Chen will be instrumental in delivering solutions to managers investing regionally and globally. Our Fund Services department in China continues to grow rapidly and Derek will support our clients both domestically and internationally," O’Shea adds.
Chen comments: “TMF Group’s growth in the funds industry is terrific and I cannot wait to proactively contribute to it, by sharing my experience with the team.”
