BNY Mellon and Amundi have teamed up to enhance risk management and optimise investment decision-making for asset managers.

The enhanced services will use automated and simplified workflow throughout the investment cycle of securities held in portfolios, to prioritise consistency of data between the portfolio and the depositary.

The alliance will translate into the technological integration of BNY Mellon OMNISM and Amundi’s ALTO* to provide integrated portfolio management and risk management tools and operational efficiencies for common clients.

BNY Mellon OMNI is a client and data-centric open, modular platform to power and optimise the investment lifecycle while Amundi’s ALTO* is a portfolio management system that covers the entire investment management value chain.

Yves Perrier, CEO of Amundi, says: “This alliance with a leading financial institution such as BNY Mellon will help us access new markets, and expand our geographic coverage.”

BNY Mellon’s CEO of asset servicing and head of digital Roman Regelman, comments: “ALTO* brings a fresh perspective on a traditional technology. Our client-centric, open architecture approach enables us to seamlessly integrate the ALTO* platform with our unrivalled suite of securities servicing capabilities offered via the OMNI platform.”

Regelman adds: “This first phase of our cooperation will focus on front to back operational and liquidity efficiencies as an aspect of priority to portfolio managers, CIO’s, Risk and Operational heads.”

BNY Mellon recently added to its asset servicing team with the appointments of Neal Chansky and Amos Rogers.

In November 2020, Amundi finalised the full integration of the Luxembourg-domiciled fund platforms of Goldman Sachs Fund Solutions & Origination, an activity of Goldman Sachs Global Markets Division.
