Michael McPolin to help Broadridge clients navigate SRD II

Broadridge has appointed Michael McPolin as managing director of market advocacy for Europe, the Middle East and Africa and Asia Pacific (APAC), for its investor communication solutions international business.

In his new role, McPolin will play a pivotal role in ensuring Broadridge remains aligned to market and client needs, such as navigating the EU Shareholder Rights Directive II (SRD II).

McPolin reports to Demi Derem, general manager of investor communications solutions international.

Commenting on his appointment, McPolin says: “Broadridge’s innovative track record of helping clients solve complex market level issues and advancing corporate governance is clearly demonstrated in their leadership role in helping the industry navigate SRD II.”

He explains: “I’m looking forward to helping deliver real and meaningful change and greater transparency to the investor communications ecosystem through such projects as wholesale re-platforming, market connectivity and golden copy issuer communications.”

Broadridge adds: “McPolin is an established and highly respected senior leader within the securities servicing industry with strong domain knowledge in custody and asset servicing, and is a welcome addition to the Broadridge team.”

Broadridge has also hired Ian Strudwick as general manager and head of APAC. Based in Singapore, Strudwick will report to Samir Pandiri, president of Broadridge International.
