Octopus Investments has launched Octopus UK Future Generations Fund, an initiative to back firms whose activities align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The fund is Octopus’ first retail fund with a sustainable investment mandate and will be operated by FundRock Partners, an independent UCITS management company.
Octopus’ fund will invest with three broad categories in mind: building a sustainable planet through clean energy and sustainable consumption; empowering people through innovations to improve daily life; and in revitalising healthcare across the world.
The delivery of data and an annual report will help investors interpret the actions of investee companies.
Simon Gunson, managing director of FundRock Partners comments: “We are delighted to have partnered with Octopus for the launch of FP Octopus UK Future Generations Fund, which enables investors to direct their money towards companies building a more sustainable planet.”
During the process, Octopus was advised by Macfarlanes, a law firm based in London.
The Macfarlanes team for this initiative was led by investment management partner Lora Froud, with assistance from solicitors Emma Garnham and Tiffany Cox.
Froud comments: “It was a pleasure to support the FundRock Partners and Octopus teams on the launch of such an exciting fund and witnessing Octopus’ passion for sustainable investing.”
