Asset Servicing Times (AST) has donated £12,100 to Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich Mind from proceeds made during a silent auction at its first Industry Excellence Awards, held last year.

The mental health charity benefited from 85 per cent of the funds raised, while the remaining 15 per cent was used to benefit local children's charities and football clubs — including Beckenham Town Juniors who received a life-saving defibrillator from AST last month.

The silent auction was held during the Industry Excellence Awards which took place at The Londoner Hotel, Leicester Square on 16 November.

Through this event, AST recognised leaders in innovation and service excellence across the securities service industry.

Clarke Carlisle, former professional footballer and Mind mental health advocate, presented the awards and delivered a thought-provoking and rousing keynote speech, which rightfully received a standing ovation.

AST was overwhelmed by the generous bids for lots on its silent auction and would once again like to thank all those in attendance at the awards night, and particularly those who took part in the auction. Highlights and the winners from the evening can be found here.

Justin Lawson, managing director of Black Knight Media and publisher of AST, says: “I’m so thrilled to be giving this money to such a worthwhile cause. After a successful auction we plan to make further donations for Mind during our next event for our sister magazine Securities Finance Times in June 2022."
