Prime brokerage firm Clear Street bolsters team

Independent prime brokerage company Clear Street has appointed Emilio Schapira as engineering lead of clearing and custody for infrastructure.

Based in New York, Schapira joins Clear Street from Waze, the satellite navigation software company, where he was advertisement and monetisation engineering lead from 2019 to 2021.

Prior to that, he was a software engineer at Google Cloud Platform.

Schapira’s appointment comes after Madhu Subbu was appointed engineering lead of securities financing in October. Subbu is also based in New York.

Prior to Clear Street, Subbu was CEO of Enigmatch, the over-the-counter (OTC) technology firm, where he was responsible for automating OTC markets through the use of combinatorial auction technology.

He has also held senior engineering roles at software company Chainalysis, as well as JP Morgan and Credit Suisse.
