Deutsche Bank has launched How We Live, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) environmental impact programme that will allow employees to engage in environmental protection and education initiatives.
The programme consists of both existing and new CSR projects. Working with grassroots organisations, environmental groups, and charities, How We Live will consider a wide range of environmental areas such as oceans and coastlines, rivers and wetlands, and urban green spaces.
Current partners include German tree-planting charity Trinkwasserwald, Waterways Protection in the UK, and youth education organisation Brotherhood Sister Sol in New York City.
Measuring the social and environmental impacts of these projects will demonstrate how the programme contributes to the UN’s sustainable development goals, Deutsche Bank says.
Lareena Hilton, global head of brand communications and CSR at Deutsche Bank, comments: “How We Live adds a new dimension to our global CSR strategy and the volunteering possibilities for employees across the bank. The new environmental impact programme is helping to create a more sustainable world and contributing to the bank’s sustainability strategy.
“As every How We Live project has a local focus, employees will help protect and restore nature and build a deeper understanding of why we must care for the natural world and change how we live.”
