Law firm Dechert has appointed Matthias Kerbusch as partner in the firm’s financial services group in Luxembourg.
Kerbusch joins the firm from Clifford Chance, where he has served for more than a decade.
In the role, he will be working with Dechert’s multi-jurisdictional tax practice to bring together regulatory and fiscal aspects of fund-structuring work. Kerbusch advises on the formation and restructuring of Luxembourg-domiciled open- and closed-end funds, covering all asset classes but focusing on specialised investment funds and reserved alternative investment funds.
Commenting on his appointment, Kerbusch says: “The strength of Dechert’s global platform and the sophistication of its asset management clients were significant factors in my decision to join the firm. Dechert’s presence as a leading funds practice across all the European investment management centers is very attractive to clients and I am excited to leverage these resources to further strengthen Dechert’s presence and capabilities in the region.”
Marc Seimetz, managing partner of the Luxembourg office, adds: "[Matthias’] addition to our Luxembourg-based team will further strengthen our global ability to support our investment management clients.”
