Citi has appointed Tibor Pandi as country officer for Singapore, effective 1 February 2023. He will report to Amol Gupte, head of South Asia and ASEAN.
In the role, Pandi will be responsible for Citi’s Singapore operations and the expansion of client relationships in the region. He will also support the bank’s digital transformation as part of Citi’s company-wide drive to improve its digital competitiveness.
Pandi has almost 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, more than 27 of which have been spent with Citi. He joined the company as a senior relationship manager at Citi’s Hungary outpost before holding several senior positions including country officer for Romania and the banking head for the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria.
Commenting on the appointment, Gupte says: “We are pleased to appoint Tibor to lead our Singapore business which is a strategic priority for Citi. With his experience and leadership, as well as deep knowledge of the region, clients and business, Tibor is well equipped to build on what we have achieved over 120 years in Singapore and help our clients capture the emerging growth opportunities.”
