Decision support tools and services provider MSCI has partnered with Google Cloud to create a cloud-native investment data acquisition and development platform.
The platform will allow MSCI to expand its range of solutions, offering data, insights and solutions designed to expedite and improve investors’ decision-making processes.
Google Cloud’s use of artificial intelligence and natural language processing, alongside its analytics capabilities such as BigQuery, VertexAI and DocumentAI, will accelerate the processing of both structured and unstructured data, the company says.
The use of geospatial analytics tools available via Google Cloud will additionally allow MSCI to better understand climate risk metrics by location. This will give users better analysis and foresight of their investments, MSCI claims.
Henry Fernandez, chairman and CEO of MSCI, says: “The investment industry is experiencing an exponential growth in data. In today’s fast-moving world, investors require the ability to analyse new and alternative sources of data to remain competitive and informed, assess evolving investment challenges and opportunities, separate the noise, and improve operational efficiencies.
“This alliance will bolster MSCI’s world-class solutions, helping our clients quickly turn data into relevant and actionable insights across asset classes and issues.”
Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, adds: “Google Cloud has a unique strategy for helping customers get insight from their data [through] a single platform. Our collaboration with MSCI will enable it to build an intelligent, cloud-native data platform that will improve the way its customers can make investment decisions.”
