BNY Mellon has named Caroline Butler as head of digital assets. She reports to Roman Regelman, CEO of securities services and digital.
Butler has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, and joined BNY Mellon in 2020. She was most recently CEO of custody services, where she launched the bank’s integrated digital custody and administration platform for digital and traditional assets.
Earlier in her career, Butler served in a number of roles at J.P. Morgan including head of global clearing and collateral management product development, head of global exchange-traded funds servicing product and head of global custody product for the Americas.
Commenting on her appointment via LinkedIn, Butler says: “I look forward to working closely with my colleagues across the bank, industry partners and our clients on building and commercialising digital asset solutions that help advance the financial ecosystem of tomorrow.”
Regelman states: “As institutional adoption of digital assets continues to evolve, we are committed to being a trusted provider of services to the broader financial ecosystem. I’m pleased to have Caroline lead our enterprise-wide initiatives as we accelerate our efforts around digital assets and other emerging technologies and solutions for our clients.”
