Digital asset custody technology provider Metaco has made a number of senior appointments to meet increasing market demand and expand its footprint.

Peter DeMeo (pictured) has been appointed chief product officer. He will be responsible for the development of the company’s full suite of software and infrastructure solutions, alongside establishing a digital asset advisory practice to advise and consult for Metaco and its clients.

DeMeo joins from IBM, where he has spent the majority of his more than 30-year career. Most recently, he was head of digital asset custody infrastructure.

Angel Nunez Mencias has been named chief customer officer, and also joins from IBM, where he served as the company’s lead architect. Nunez Mencias has more than two decades of experience in the digital asset industry, holding several development and architectural roles at IBM.

Katrin Koller has been appointed head of advisory. Koller joins from Accenture, where she was a technology innovation strategy senior manager for digital assets, tokenisation and central bank digital currencies. She additionally serves as a member of ISSA’s distributed ledger technology working group.

Adrien Treccani, CEO and founder of Metaco, says: “We’re proud to appoint executives from leading companies in the computing, blockchain, financial services and consultancy industries to the leadership team. Metaco continues to grow at pace, supporting financial and non-financial institutions with infrastructure for a future in which every asset will be represented on-chain.

“These additions to our team will ensure that we continue to scale effectively and develop our solutions to meet the institutional demand we face, from regulated top-tier banks to corporates across all industries who wish to embed digital assets into their products and services.”

DeMeo adds: “The digital asset industry is undergoing a paradigm shift, underpinned by new security and compliance standards, driven by established financial institutions working closely with regulators worldwide. Metaco is playing a crucial role in supporting these institutions to bridge traditional finance and digital assets.”
