The Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA), along with digital asset investors and industry experts, has published a collection of due diligence questionnaires (DDQs) for digital asset investment managers and funds.
Developed by AIMA’s digital assets working group, the questionnaires cover a range of areas, including risk management, leverage and strategy, and address fund service providers such as custody, performance and valuation.
The questionnaires are designed for investors to evaluate the investment and operational risks around digital asset investment fund allocations. Additionally, by providing a standard information-sharing template, AIMA aims to improve transparency around digital assets and the risks associated with them — something that investors are increasingly demanding.
AIMA’s digital assets working group consists of a number of senior industry experts from across the industry. The group provides operational guidance and thought-leadership initiatives, and drives AIMA’s regulatory engagement with the digital asset space.
Jack Inglis, CEO of AIMA, comments: “Events last year further demonstrated the need for digital asset investors to undertake significant due diligence processes prior to making an investment. Following the publication of our operational guidance on digital asset custody, this new set of due diligence questionnaires for digital asset investment managers and funds can help to standardise the due diligence process around this growing asset class.“
