Data service company Linedata has acquired Portugal-based software company Audaxys.
The acqusition is part of Linedata’s effort to expand its lending and leasing activities in Southern Europe, as Portugal has gradually emerged as a technology hub.
Due to the quality of its universities in the fields of finance, industrial engineering and technology, the country is now a prominent international source of talent, recognised by both start-ups and major players, says Linedata.
Linedata predicts that the acquisition will be a key driver of its technological innovation globally.
It also reaffirms its commitment to expanding in Southern Europe throughout the Iberian region.
Jamil Jiva, global head of business development at Linedata, says: "Its connections with the countries of the Portuguese-speaking world, particularly Brazil, via the Portugal 2030 programme, make it a key business location in Europe. Our ambition is to develop a center of excellence in Portugal dedicated to the credit business, based on the know-how of local teams."
Miguel Rangel, chairman and CEO of Audaxys, adds: “This alliance offers Audaxys and its teams new development perspectives in the credit business, as well as an even wider range of products and services to meet our clients' needs.”
