Marc-André Bechet has left his role as deputy director general at the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI). Bechet held the role for more than eight years.
Before that he was the association’s director of legal and tax from 2014 to 2020.
Prior to his tenure at ALFI, Bechet served at Banque Degroof Luxembourg as director of investment funds from 2010 to 2014. He was also a member of its management board.
From 2006 to 2010, he was the company’s head of investment funds compliance.
Commenting on his departure via LinkedIn, Bechet says: “Working in and for the fund industry in Luxembourg has truly been a privilege. [...] It is an industry that is never boring, and it has become more sophisticated and complex throughout the years. Ultimately, we are here to meet the needs of retail investors (as well as institutional investors), so I am entirely convinced that our industry has an important role to play within a democratic system.
“Personally, the human aspect of working in the fund industry comes first. I have come across so many talented, energetic, engaged, competent and nice people, from various cultures and backgrounds. For this, I would like to express my deepest gratitude.”
