Following a strategic agreement with European asset manager Amundi, CACEIS now holds a 33.33 per cent strategic stake in B2B fund distribution platform Fund Channel. Amundi remains the majority shareholder.

Fund Channel provides services including data management, fund execution, advisory services and business intelligence to Europe’s open-architecture distribution network. The company’s solutions will be distributed through Amundi and CACEIS’ established dealing and distribution services as part of the stakeholders’ aim to accelerate its development.

The agreement is in line with both firms’ strategic plans, which target growth in assets under administration to €600 billion by 2025.

Joe Saliba, deputy CEO of CACEIS, comments: “This joint venture will significantly boost Fund Channel’s profile as a fund distribution platform in Europe and Asia. By joining forces with Amundi, we have created a strategic partnership which enhances the fund distribution support offering of both CACEIS and Fund Channel, while meeting the demands of our current and future clients in the most efficient way.”

Guillaume Lesage, chief operating officer at Amundi, says: “The partnership between Amundi and CACEIS creates a unique offering on the market, enabling Fund Channel to be the preferred platform on the open architecture market, combining services, technology and fund execution.”

CACEIS is the asset servicing group of Crédit Agricole and Santander.

Paris-based asset management house Amundi was formed in 2010 by Crédit Agricole and Societe Generale and Crédit Agricole is currently its major shareholder.
