The Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) has appointed CNMV’s Cristina Ribó Sörensen as board director and WM Datenservice’s Torsten Ulrich as chair.

On behalf of Spain’s National Securities Markets Commission, Sörensen will replace Dan Kuhnel, who is departing after 18 years as chair. Ulrich currently serves as ANNA’s vice-chair.

ANNA is an organisation focused on the maintenance of capital markets through International Organisation for Standardisation standards. It manages relationships between market participants, regulators and other standard bodies to facilitate market cohesion, allocating codes on behalf of local jurisdictions.

Commenting on her new role, Sörensen says: “I look forward to promoting ANNA’s activities, particularly in the digital assets sector. Good governance and the harmonisation and interoperability of data standards will also be priorities as we continue working with national numbering agencies (NNAs) to further improve everything we do for industry.”

Ulrich adds: “I would like to extend a huge thank you to ANNA’s former chair, Dan Kuhnel. His strong leadership has provided the foundation for ANNA to grow and evolve into a successful association as markets rapidly transform and become more complex.

“I look forward to my new role as chair, improving global financial standards and working closely with NNAs to achieve extended interoperability and better data quality.”
