The Investment Association (IA) has opened applications for its annual fintech accelerator programme, Engine Innovator.

The programme, which has run since 2018, supports fintech firms in developing solutions for investments, operations and distribution in the investment management industry

Innovator also gives participants access to mentoring and connectivity through the Engine Advisory Panel and IA policy experts. The programme culminates with a showcase at the IA’s Global EmTech conference in March 2024.

Applications for Engine Innovator will remain open until 11 November.

Engine is the IA’s fintech accelerator and innovation hub for the investment management industry and runs a number of programmes in addition to Innovator.

The IA’s SPARKS programme, which focuses on supporting pre-seed and early stage initiatives, will open for application from 18 September to 20 October.

Additionally, the association has welcomed Israel and Switzerland to its Global Partners programme.

The IA says it has supported 34 fintechs through the Engine Innovator and SPARKS programmes, which are now in their seventh and third cohorts respectively.

Gillian Painter, head of membership and Engine at the IA, says: “Innovation in investment management is crucial to enhancing the experience for the millions of people we serve across the UK and abroad.

“I’m therefore excited to open applications for the latest cohorts of Engine’s Innovator Programme and the SPARKS programme; which support the development and application of new technologies within our industry. The programmes provide unique industry insight, training opportunities and mentoring, and the positive impact of past cohorts has already been felt across the industry.”
