BNY Mellon has appointed Christine Waldron (pictured) as head of fund services, effective 11 September 2023. She succeeds Alan Flanagan, who will now serve as head of client coverage.

Waldron has three decades of experience in the industry, and joins BNY Mellon from U.S. Bank. She has spent more than 24 years with the company, most recently serving as chief product officer for wealth management and investment services. Prior to this, she was senior vice president and chief global strategy officer for fund services, and spent more than 19 years as global head of alternative investment solutions.

Earlier in her career, Waldron was a senior associate at KPMG and an associate at financial education firm B.C. Holdings.

In his new role, Flanagan will oversee relationship management for BNY Mellon’s global asset servicing operations.

Flanagan has worked at BNY Mellon for more than 16 years, serving as global head of alternative investment services prior to his head of fund services role. He is additionally a member of the board of directors for Quebec-based financial services firm Innocap.

Before joining the company, Flanagan was head of business development for the Americas at UBS and was a hedge fund operations manager at CIBC.

Both Waldron and Flanagan report to Emily Portney, global head of asset servicing.
