BMLL, a capital markets data provider based in London, has secured investment from Snowflake Ventures, marking a new partnership between the two parties.

As part of the investment, BMLL will provide Snowflake’s capital markets clients with Level 3 data and analytics covering more than 75 venues for equities, futures and exchange-traded funds within the Snowflake Marketplace platform.

The investment follows BMLL’s series B funding in Q4 2022, in which it secured a combined US$26 million from Nasdaq Ventures, FactSet and IQ Capital.

Paul Humphrey, CEO of BMLL, says: “We are very excited to have secured strategic investment from Snowflake Ventures. They are backing, and are aligned with, our mission to democratise access to high quality, large-scale historical data because BMLL’s data and analytics is one of the best use-cases for large-scale, financial market data in the cloud.

“We make our vast warehouse of curated Level 3 data and analytics readily available to the market and ultimately ensure that everyone can optimise their data capabilities.”

Kieran Kennedy, head of marketplace at Snowflake, adds: “BMLL has a great track record and proven traction in serving some of the world’s largest financial institutions, regulators and academics, all seeking to gain a deeper understanding of market shifts, liquidity dynamics and alpha generation. We’re excited to announce both our investment in and partnership with BMLL Technologies.”
