Novatus Global (Novatus) has appointed Bill Michael as head of strategy and as a member of its board.

Novatus is a risk and regulation consultancy and technology solution provider.

Michael will be responsible for helping the firm deliver tailored advice and regtech solutions to Novatus’s financial services clients.

He brings more than 35 years of experience in financial services across capital markets, corporate banking and regulation.

Prior to joining Novatus Global, Michael was UK chairman at KPMG. He previously held roles including UK head of financial services and global head of banking and capital markets at the firm.

This appointment follows the 2022 investment from venture capital investor Maven Capital Partners, to help Novatus Global capitalise on growth opportunities within the regtech market.

Over the past 12 months, the firm has continued to expand its international footprint by signing its first client, a superannuation fund, in Australia.

Matthew Ranson, partner and co-founder of Novatus Global, comments: “The demand for our services and solutions continues to grow within a global market estimated at circa £20 billion (US$ 24 billion) per annum.

He adds: “We are delighted that Bill joins us at this pivotal moment as we continue to work on achieving scale across both the advisory and regtech divisions of our business.”
