Digital asset custody service provider Komainu has partnered with Crypto Garage, the digital asset service provider subsidiary of Digital Garage, to launch an institutional crypto service offering in Japan.

Through the partnership, the companies will provide a secure, reliable platform for the management of digital assets across their lifecycle. A particular focus has been placed in security and compliance in the project.

The development of advanced digital asset custody solutions comes in response to increased interest in crypto from Japanese institutions and a desire to boost engagement further.

Digital Garage has invested in Komainu in order to increase its presence and market share in Japan. Nomura Holdings is also backing the company, demonstrating a commitment to crypto from traditional finance and, the firms hope, increasing trust and confidence from Japanese institutions.

Nicolas Bertrand, Komainu CEO, says: “Japan is a key jurisdiction for digital assets and continues to be an important part of our plans to be the most coveted institutional-grade custodian globally. We are pleased to take our relationship with Crypto Garage to the next level as we continue to cement our footprint in Japan.”

Masahito Okuma, Crypto Garage CEO, comments: "Komainu and Crypto Garage share a common vision of providing crypto services that meet the highest standards of security, compliance, and user experience. By combining forces, we will leverage our collective expertise to deliver solutions that satisfy the unique needs of Japanese institutions."
