Global risk intelligence firm, Thomas Murray, has hired Ioan Peters as their new managing director. The appointment is part of the firm’s launch of its cyber risk advisory practice.

Peters will lead his team across various sectors including consultancy, banking and defence. His team will also offer services to government, police and armed forces.

Peters recently left Kroll, where he was a founding member of the EMEA cyber risk team. He was previously the group head of security audit at Airbus Group.

The practice integrates Thomas Murray’s cyber services across governance, risk and compliance advisory, testing, attack simulation, incident response, forensics and eDiscovery.

Thomas Murray provides risk and information services to many reputable financial institutions including Barclays, BNP Paribas, HSBC and the Bank of America.

On his appointment, Peters said: ““I am delighted to be joining Thomas Murray. As the cyber threat landscape intensifies, it is critical that boards understand and take ownership of the threats their businesses face, without shying away from the opportunities.”

Simon Thomas, Thomas Murray’s executive chairman, adds: “Ioan is a leading authority on cyber security with experience not only co-leading Kroll’s EMEA practice but also as a practitioner both at Airbus and in the UK Government. We are thrilled to have him on board.”
