State Street Global Advisors has appointed Anna Paglia as the new executive vice president and chief business officer. The appointment will come into effect early next year.

Paglia will be responsible for developing a longer-term growth strategy for the business. She will also aim to increase the firm’s overall competitive positioning and will be in charge of the delivery of investment exposures and tailored solutions for its clients.

She will be reporting directly to Yie-Hsin Hung, State Street Global Advisors CEO.

Paglia joins State Street from Invesco where she has been serving as head of ETFs, indexed strategies, SMAs and models. At the company, she oversaw investment operations and commercialisation strategy.

Speaking on her appointment, Paglia says: "I am excited to join Yie-Hsin’s leadership organisation and collaborate with the talented teams of individuals at State Street Global Advisors to help drive the firm's growth and delivery of solutions for our clients. The firm's commitment to client-centricity, innovation and investing for the future align perfectly with my approach in developing a robust strategy and creating long-term value.”
