The Warsaw Stock Exchange Group (GPW) has appointed the Issuer Council to the president of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
The Issuer Council will serve as a platform for dialogue among issuers, investors, and regulators with the objective of making the market more efficient and promoting long-term development strategies of Polish companies listed on GPW.
The activity of the Issuer Council will focus on three key areas which include improving market transparency, promoting the capital market, and building investor confidence.
The Issuer Council will be a platform for the exchange of experience and initiatives to make a real impact on the future of the capital market.
The Council consists of 13 members, two of which are Tomasz Bardzilowski, president of the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, and Adam Góral, president of Asseco Poland, chairperson of the Issuer Council.
Commenting on his appointment, Bardzilowski says: “The stock exchange is first and foremost about people, their experience, knowledge, and commitment. The stock exchange is a community of issuers, investors, regulators, and experts joining forces to build the strength of this market. That is why I believe that the newly appointed Issuer Council will bring together wise and committed leaders working together to further the development of the capital market.”
Góral states: “The stock exchange offers enormous opportunities for business growth. Floating a company on the exchange allows it to raise capital [and] also helps to foster a positive image of a mature organisation. The decision we took 20 years ago has had a key impact on the development of Asseco.
“We are building the largest IT group in Central and Eastern Europe and reaching out with our software to customers all over the world. I am therefore all the more pleased that I have been invited to join the Issuer Council and offered the honourable function of its chairperson.”
