Ripple and Chipper Cash have partnered to support cross-border payments across Africa.
The collaboration will integrate Ripple Payments, a crypto-enabled payments solution, into Chipper Cash. This will enable customers in over 21 African countries to have access to faster payments at a lower cost, the companies say.
Reece Merrick, managing director of Middle East and Africa at Ripple, comments: “By integrating our technology into Chipper Cash’s platform, we’re enabling faster, more affordable cross-border payments while driving economic growth and innovation across the markets they serve."
Co-founder and CEO of Chipper Cash, Ham Serunjogi, adds: "Crypto-enabled payments have the potential to enable greater financial inclusion, accelerate access to global markets, and empower businesses and individuals across Africa."
The partnership also marks Ripples continued expansion in the region, which began with Onafriq in 2023.
