Symmie Swil has joined Upvest as UK general manager, a move the company says is part of its efforts to expand its presence across the UK.
Making the leap from Finverity, where she was the chief operating officer, Swil brings almost 20 years of fintech and banking experience to her new role. Notably, she has served as the head of SME banking at Starling Bank, and as chief operating officer for Investec.
As UK general manager, Swil will be responsible for scaling the business across UK banking and fintech markets and strengthening relationships with existing investment institutions.
On her appointment, Swil says: “Having seen the impact of Upvest’s trailblazing journey through Europe, I’m honoured to be leading our UK team as we work to bring the same benefits to the UK market.”
