Stone & Youngberg, have announced that Paul R. Touchstone, CFA, has recently been promoted to senior investment strategist and portfolio manager for the firm’s Private Client Group.
“We are very pleased to have someone with Paul’s background and expertise heading up our asset management services,” said Bill Evans, managing director and head of Stone & Youngberg’s Private Client Group. “His strategic vision and differentiated approach to managing risk will greatly serve our investment advisory clients.”
“2008 was a huge wake-up call for investors, and should have also been for advisors,” said Touchstone. “Our focus on risk analysis versus simply allocating for returns helps us protect our clients’ assets, even during times of heightened instability. We leverage our independence and depth of knowledge to manage portfolios with a great deal of flexibility---and that’s an incredible value-add for our clients.”
Touchstone’s background includes international portfolio management, global macro-economic analysis, fixed income, currency, and alternative investment strategies. Prior to joining Stone & Youngberg in 2009, he was the vice president and portfolio manager for the First Bank Wealth Management Group in San Francisco, California, where he was responsible for advising high-net worth individuals and managing their investment portfolios. Touchstone also served on First Bank’s investment committee, responsible for $3 billion in assets under management. Before that, he was director of operations and international equity analyst for Schroeder Capital Management, a registered investment advisor in Lafayette, California specializing in global equity portfolio management.
Touchstone holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business with a minor in computer science from Western State College of Colorado.
