MicroEdge, LLC, has announced the release of FIMS 12.5, an essential update to the company’s Foundation Information Management System. FIMS 12.5 delivers capabilities to automate fund administration and information management within the FIMS system, along with reporting enhancements that make it easier for foundations to produce presentation-quality reports.
FIMS is a fully integrated, enterprise technology solution that allows community foundations, faith-based organizations and education and scholarship foundations to perform grants management, financial management and donor relationship management with one centralized, comprehensive system. Nearly 85 percent of the total assets of the community foundation market are managed with MicroEdge FIMS.
FIMS 12.5 streamlines the process of data entry and updates. An address update tool facilitates address updates in FIMS using the National Change of Address (NCOA) database, and eliminates the tedious process of entering address updates into the system, one by one. An Accounts Payable Voucher Import utility seamlessly brings administrative vouchers from an external source directly into FIMS, saving valuable time and resources while keeping the FIMS database current at all times.
Additionally, foundations today face an ever-increasing number of requests for timely information from internal and external stakeholders. Improvements to all standard report templates make it easier for organizations to get the information they need out of FIMS and into a presentation-quality format, enabling them to export reports to PDF, Word and Excel. “Giving organizations track and manage a wealth of important information within FIMS that helps them track key performance indicators for the foundation, and communicate value to their internal and external constituents,” says Benny Melumad, Chief Technology Officer. “FIMS 12.5 is one of a series of steps we are taking to provide our FIMS clients with better access to this vital business information.”
FIMS 12.5 also includes more than 50 enhancements and maintenance items, including a variety of updates designed to improve ease of use, streamline workflow, and simplify the process of fund administration. The FIMS 12.5 update will be available in late December 2010. All current FIMS clients receive this update at no charge as part of their existing MicroEdge Maintenance and Support agreement.
