AlphaMetrix, LLC, has appointed Mikus Kins as executive director of business development. Kins reports to Geoff Marcus, chief strategic officer, and is based in Chicago.

Most recently, Kins was head of US business development at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Chicago for the Business Transaction Services product group focusing on large corporate and multinational clients.

“Mikus has a proven track record for growing innovative, entrepreneurial teams that serve the world’s top financial institutions,” said Marcus. “We are excited to leverage that experience as we roll out what we believe is the first offering to combine hedge fund platform and hedge fund administration capabilities.”

Previously, Kins spent almost four years in London with Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Global Securities Solutions (GSS) Division. GSS, Bank of America’s securitization trust and administration business, was recently sold to U.S. Bank at the end of 2010. While in London, Kins was GSS EMEA head of products and sales, was a member of the GSS Executive leadership team and served as a director for Bank of America Trustees Limited. In this role, Kins was responsible for overseeing business development, product development and relationship management for 16 product lines including CDO/CMBS/RMBS trust and administration, SPV administration, issuing and paying agency (IPA), institutional custody, common depository and loan administration and agency services.

Prior, Kins served GSS in London as head of CDO Europe and in this capacity he focused on managing and streamlining the business while developing strategy for the entire front-, middle- and back-office of the Europe-based product group. Kins also served as the global head of Total Return Swap (TRS) transaction management and oversaw both the Chicago and London TRS portfolio administration product teams.

Kins earned an MBA in finance with a minor in international business from the Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University, graduating as a Weidler Scholar. He also holds a BA in international relations and a BA in history from Brown University.
