Jeff Nason has joined Butterfield Fulcrum as managing director, global and strategic relationships. In this newly created position, he will be responsible for further developing Butterfield Fulcrum’s relationships with large, complex alternative asset fund groups.
Based in the New York office, Nason will be responsible for developing client relationships on a global basis, as well as strategic relationships with asset management groups whose fund offerings require service providers with deep experience in difficult trading strategies, illiquid assets and complex fund structures. In Nason's new role he will work closely with a team of client integration professionals with accounting and project management qualifications and experience in on boarding complex funds; a risk and valuation team adept at pricing difficult and illiquid assets; and a team of CAs and CFAs to deliver robust and timely portfolio and investor reporting.
“Jeff has a unique background in fund management, asset allocation, fund seeding, due diligence and investigation,” said Glenn Henderson, CEO of Butterfield Fulcrum. “We are delighted to be bringing on board a professional who really understands our clients and what they, and their investors, want and expect out of their service providers. His depth of expertise will elevate our client service model in a climate where anticipating both investment manager and investor demands in valuation, independence, transparency and reporting is crucial.”
“I am delighted to join Butterfield Fulcrum at a time when clients are increasingly looking to their service providers for creative solutions to their business challenges. In my career, both as a client of Butterfield Fulcrum and an allocator to other Butterfield Fulcrum clients, I have firsthand experience with the company’s high level of quality and service. I am confident in our ability to deliver what investment managers and investors expect of their fund administrator. The opportunity to work with Glenn and the rest of the talented and dedicated team is very exciting,” said Mr. Nason.
Nason most recently founded and ran Marlin Holdings, LLC and its wholly-owned subsidiary Marlin Global Insight, LLC, where he conducted investment opportunity and deal sourcing due diligence on asset managers for investors, including institutions, family offices, fund of funds and high net worth individuals. Prior to setting up his own company in 2006, he was managing director at Ritchie Capital Management, a global asset management platform, where he managed all aspects of manager identification, due diligence, selection, allocation of capital, and external portfolio management. Nason has more than 15 years of experience conducting complex fact investigations for Pricewaterhouse Coopers and The Investigative Group International.
