BNY Mellon has been appointed principal paying agent, registrar, exchange agent, and transfer agent for Qtel International Finance Limited's (QIFL) new $3 billion Global Medium Term Note (GMTN) programme.
Giambattista Atzeni, vice-president and senior relationship manager for MENA & Turkey, Corporate Trust at BNY Mellon, said: "Following the initial 10-year $1 billion senior unsecured drawdown under the programme back in December 2012, Qtel has subsequently issued two more notes, including 30-year $500 million notes, and therefore marking a significant milestone for corporate debt issuers in Qatar."
QTel is a telecommunications service provider that provides both fixed and mobile telecommunications in the state of Qatar and also operates in 16 other countries in the MENA and south-east Asia regions.
In 2009, BNY Mellon was appointed principal paying agent and issuing agent for Qtel International Finance Limited’s $5 billion GMTN programme.
