SWIFT’s chief information officer, Mike Fish, is retiring. He will leave the institute on 31 January 2015 and SWIFT will appoint his successor on both an internal and external basis.

Fish joined SWIFT in 1999 and became the chief information officer in 2006. He has been responsible for overseeing transformation products such as SWIFTNet messaging.

He also led the development and launch of SWIFT’s Lite2 connectivity option and the T2S European securities settlement engine product.

Gottfried Leibbart, CEO of SWIFT, said: "I am extremely grateful to Fish for his contribution to the business in this demanding role.”

Fish also commented on his retirement: “It has been a privilege to hold this position for the past several years, leading an ever expanding and ever more accomplished team of professionals.”

Leibbart added: “Fish has built a highly-skilled and professional team, which I am confident will continue to uphold the tradition of excellence and achievement that has been the hallmark of his leadership.”
