Art@Sibos presents creative interpretations of industry issues

Since its inception, the Sibos exhibition has been one of the pillars of the world’s premier financial services event. It’s where business gets done, contracts are closed, networking ensues, and old and new partnerships find each other.

While we take great pride in the quality – and may we say beauty – of the trade show stands, we cannot claim to have had true works of art in the purest sense of the word.

Until now.

Art@Sibos is a new initiative to bring art to the Sibos exhibition floor. In pace with the key conference topics, Art@Sibos presents delegates with a creative interpretation of industry issues.

While many topics will be explored in panel debates, keynote speeches, and interactive workshops, an art exhibit adds entirely new perspectives to the mix. Art has the power to transform the existing angles of a theme to inspire bold new insights and individual reflection.

For its debut, the Art@Sibos initiative will appear in the known format of an art gallery.

The Sibos Gallery will showcase more than half a dozen pieces of installation art. The pieces will be displayed in such a way that makes it possible for delegates to interact with the art, walk around it, even touch it.

The theme for the Sibos Gallery is The Banker’s Briefcase. Each briefcase stages a separate piece of art; a variation on the same theme, a unique take on the issues, ideas and items that bankers haul around, both physically and mentally.

To develop each work of art, Sibos is partnering with a local art studio. Over the coming weeks, we will tell you more about the themes of each of the works of art, and the artists.

Stay tuned.
