DLA Piper has hired Elizabeth Ritter as partner in its corporate and finance practice.
Ritter will provide counsel regarding domestic and international financial regulations in the wake of global financial market reform measures at the firm.
She previously served as chief counsel at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CTFC). Whilst there she also served as counsel to the Republican and Democrat chairs agency.
“Ritter has unmatched experience as one of those involved in both the drafting of the Dodd-Frank legislation as well as in the development of the implementing regulations," said Marc Horwitz, head of DLA Piper’s derivatives practice.
Her hire follows the appointment of Bart Chilton, the former CTFC commissioner and Nicolette Kost de Sevres, a senior policy advisor in Washington DC.
