ABN AMRO Bank has appointed Robbert Booij to the position of country executive for the UK, and general manager of the UK branch.

He replaces Paul Gallagher, who is moving on to take up a new leadership challenge in risk management for ABN AMRO in the UK and internationally.

Booij will also maintain his current responsibilities as managing director and head of clearing in the United Kingdom, a role he has held since 2012.

He has been at ABN AMRO since 2009, holding positions including deputy head of global business control and global head of enterprise risk management. Previous to this, he has worked at Fortis Bank, AFM and at the UK Financial Services Authority.

Paul Schuilwerve, managing director and head of international corporate banking at ABN AMRO Bank said: “Robbert has extensive experience in various positions at ABN AMRO and in the UK financial sector with his strong knowledge of financial infrastructure and risk management, as well as his regulatory background.”
