SS&C has hired Chris Whiting as senior director and leader of its new advisory relationship management team.

Whiting joins from Moneta Group, where he was COO. Before this, he spent 20 years at A.G. Edwards, now a part of Wells Fargo Advisors, where he managed technology initiatives and integration.

He will now report to Dave Welling, senior vice president and managing director of the SS&C advisory market group.

The new advisory relationship management team will offer a support model focused on accountability and engagement with clients, and will be made up of specialists in working with advisors, wealth managers, and high-net worth asset managers.

Support will include technology guidance tailored to clients’ business goals, as well as networking events and other initiatives.

The team will support about 2,000 advisory and wealth management clients using SS&C’s Advent OnDemand, Axys, APX and Black Diamond solutions.

Welling said: “The vision of SS&C’s new advisory market group is to align our business around what our clients do rather than around what products they use … Whiting is the outstanding candidate to lead our efforts to strengthen and enhance the level of engagement with our advisory client base.”

He added: “This undertaking signals our continued commitment to investing in the advisory market and is representative of the enhanced offerings and additional services that our clients can expect as part of the SS&C family.”

“Chris and his specialised team of advisory client relationship management experts will deliver tremendous value to our clients, providing them with the expertise and perspective that advisors need to thrive in a competitive marketplace.”
