Northern Trust has expanded its global capital markets team with the appointment of Craig Blackbourn as head of transition management for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
The bank’s global capital markets business encompasses transition management, securities lending, brokerage and foreign exchange.
In his new role, Blackbourn is responsible for offering institutional investors across the region transition management solutions that combine risk and project management with global trading expertise.
He reports to Ben Jenkins, global head of transition management at Northern Trust, and is based in London.
Blackbourn joins Northern Trust from Nomura International, where he was head of transition management for the EMEA region.
Previously, he served at Lehman Brothers, BNP Paribas Securities Services and Aberdeen Asset Management, and in both the custody and asset management businesses of Deutsche Bank.
“Northern Trust is growing our global capital markets business and Craig Blackbourn’s appointment demonstrates our commitment to investing in our transition management capabilities for clients across EMEA,” said Andy Clayton, Northern Trust’s head of capital markets in the EMEA.
