Finastra has appointed Pedro Porfirio as global head of capital markets.

Pedro will be responsible for driving the growth of Finastra’s capital markets business line, focusing on treasury, capital markets, and investment management.

Based in London, Porfirio will report to Hannes Liebe, international COO.

Prior to Finastra, Porfirio worked at Calypso Technology where he served as chief product officer.

He has also held director positions at Dresdner and Lehman Brothers, both in London and in New York.

Simon Paris, deputy CEO at Finastra, said: “[Porfirio] will apply his technology insight and industry experience to optimise our global strategy and solutions, enabling us to continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers. Porfirio and his team are fundamental as we accelerate innovation across our capital markets business.”

Commenting on his appointment, Porfirio said: “I’m impressed by the team and the culture at Finastra and am excited to join such a visionary company. The potential for ongoing innovation in capital markets is huge, especially as the market is waking up to the realisation that evolutionary transformation pays significant dividends versus a big-bang change programme.”

He added: “I look forward to working with the team in supporting clients, developing future strategy and enabling the global vision for a platform-first approach.”
