The International Capital Market Association (ICMA) has published its 2018 legal opinions updates for the Global Master Repurchase Agreement (GMRA).
GMRA is the standard agreement for international transactions and the 2018 opinions cover the use of GMRA in over 60 jurisdictions worldwide.
Aspects of enforceability of the netting provisions for the GMRA, as well as the validity of the GMRA, are covered in the 2018 opinions.
All 2018 opinions also cover, as a minimum, companies, banks, and securities dealers.
In addition, the opinions for 49 jurisdictions cover insurance companies, hedge funds, and mutual funds as parties to the GMRA, where still relevant.
ICMA members now have access to this considerable body of legal work as a part of their membership of the association.
