Citi has appointed Julie Kerr as Asia Pacific (APAC) head of custody and fund services in the bank’s prime, futures and securities services business (PFSS).
Leading the overall business management and strategic direction for APAC, Kerr will report to David Russell, head of markets and securities services Hong Kong and globally to Sanjiv Sawhney, global head of custody and fund services.
Kerr has more than two decades experience in client facing roles within APAC and joins Citi from EY where she was a partner in their financial services, wealth and asset management division for Asia Pacific.
She served as part of Ernst & Young’s APAC financial services leadership team, where she led the finance services markets team, as well as the exchange-traded funds practice. Kerr has also served at Barra, Omgeo, Simcorp and Broadridge.
Commenting on Kerr’s appointment, Russell said: “Julie Kerr brings exceptional technical knowledge of the platforms and infrastructure of both the asset managers and the asset servicers to her new role.”
He added: “I am confident under Julie’s leadership, the business will continue to grow market share with clients in this core business for Citi. Kerr has worked across multiple countries in the region and has gained a deep insight to the trends and factors influencing the asset management industry across APAC.”
“Kerr is a widely known speaker in the industry and has been closely involved with efficiency projects and strategic development plans for many of the major asset managers and asset servicers operating in the region.”
