J.P. Morgan has appointed Thawee Poonlapmongkol as head of treasury services (TS) for Thailand, wholesale payments.

Poonlapmongkol will report to Christine Tan, head of treasury services for Association of Southeast Asian Nations, wholesale payments, and Chayotid Kridakon, senior country officer for Thailand.

Poonlapmongkol has more than 17 years of experience across sales management and business development in transaction banking.

At J.P. Morgan, Poonlapmongkol will manage and drive the TS business in Thailand, with a focus on prioritising innovation to support clients.

Tan said: “Thawee Poonlapmongkol has extensive experience in transaction banking and we are pleased he has joined the team at J.P. Morgan.”

“With his deep knowledge of the Thai market and clear understanding of treasury needs, we are confident he will be able to support our clients across financial institutions, local corporations and multinational firms.”

Kridakon commented: “Thailand’s economy continues to demonstrate strength but macro uncertainties mean companies need to become increasingly strategic in how they take advantage of the opportunities on offer as they expand their businesses in an increasingly competitive environment.”

He added: “We are excited about the value Thawee Poonlapmongkol will bring to clients; J.P. Morgan has been operating in Thailand for more than 50 years and we remain very committed to providing our clients in Thailand with guidance, advice and solutions.”
