Australian software development company IRESS is integrating support for the Asia Pacific Stock Exchange (APX) in to its trading platforms, providing order management and data support for the APX market.

The new support will take effect with the launch of APX’s new NASDAQ OMX trading system, X-Stream, on 9 March 2015, subject to industry readiness.

APX market participants that subscribe to IRESS will be able to enter orders in the same way that they do for other Australian markets, while IRESS clients will have greater visibility of APX market activity.

The system will also include automated order processing capability in order to make it easier for traders to access the APX market, and should contribute to growth in trading volumes on the APX market.

COO of APX, David Lawrence, said: “This is a significant broadening of the distribution of APX products and access capabilities. It will benefit not only our market participants, but will also have significant benefit for our listed companies as their visibility in the market increases.”

Matt Rady, global head of financial markets at IRESS, added: “This important development means IRESS’ clients will be easily able to access the APX market. It reflects IRESS’ commitment to continue to innovate to support changing needs.”
