Athene and MUFG team up for middle and back office

Athene Asset Management has selected MUFG Investor Services, the global asset servicing arm of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, to provide business process outsourcing for certain middle- and back-office operations.

MUFG Investor Services will provide business outsourcing solutions and staff augmentation to support Athene Asset Management’s growth. The Los Angeles-based investment adviser currently manages more than $66 billion in assets.

Troy Spencer, executive vice president of business operations and compliance at Athene Asset Management, said: “We have been impressed by MUFG Investor Services's flexibility in providing outsourced services specifically suited to our operating needs and unique business control processes.”

John Sergides, global head of sales at MUFG Investor Services, added: “Our relationship with Athene Asset Management and the manner in which we provide their business process outsourcing is representative of our overall strategy, which is to offer onsite and remote solutions specifically tailored for each client across the widest spectrum of services and with the highest quality of people and technology.”

MUFG Investor Services, with more than $485 billion in assets under administration, provides administration services for more than 2,400 funds across all investment strategies, asset types and fund structures. It has also run a securities lending programme for 20 years.
