CACEIS has extended its partnership with Nest, the workplace pension scheme established by the UK government, to provide an end-to-end cost transparency and benchmarking service.

As part of the new mandate, CACEIS will assist Nest to manage the collection process of cost transparency initiative templates, with a particular focus on annual management costs (AMC) and transaction costs.

The reporting will be at total fund level and also fund range level across all of Nest’s investment managers. This will assist Nest with visualising its AMC and transaction costs across its range of managers and funds, in support of their value for money assessment.

CACEIS has supported Nest in providing an integrated view of its transaction costs across its range of managers and funds since 2019.

Fez Yousaf, fund administration manager at Nest, comments: “Being able to demonstrate value for money is crucial for a pension scheme like Nest. We want to reassure our members we are giving them access to the best deals we can, while reducing any drag on investment performance. The CACEIS dashboard allows us to compare costs across our investment funds, looking at transaction costs as well as fees charged by fund managers.”

Pat Sharman, country managing director, UK, CACEIS says: “We remain focused on delivering innovative tech-based solutions around sustainable governance, to help pension schemes of all shapes and sizes manage the regulatory, economic and environmental pressures facing them today.

Sharman adds: “At the centre of this is our team of dedicated UK pensions professionals that understand the defined needs of our clients, and are deeply committed to bringing the highest levels of service delivery, through our approachable and personable style.”
