Bloomberg launches funds data service

Bloomberg has launched the Funds Data Solution to provide data on mutual funds, fund of funds, closed and open-end funds, and exchange-traded products, such as exchange-traded funds.

By utilising this solution, clients can compare, analyse, select and monitor funds to meet their investment, risk or operational needs.

The solution integrates with other Bloomberg data services by using standardised identifiers, such as the Financial Instrument Global Identifier, proprietary Bloomberg identifiers, and detailed metadata.

Through the Funds Data Solution, clients can access reference and pricing data and look through underlying portfolio holdings to inform portfolio construction, benchmarking, rebalancing, tracking risk and positions, trading and order workflow processes.

The solution delivers ESG scores and analytics, enabling clients to determine whether a fund meets specified sustainability criteria.

In addition, clients can use Bloomberg’s Fund Analytics product to gain visibility into the liquidity, credit and interest rate risk exposure of a fund with fund-level risk metrics based on Bloomberg's solution. Alongside collective investment fund products, the solution also provides data on exchange-traded funds and other exchange-traded products.

Bloomberg’s Funds Data Solution is available on the Bloomberg Terminal and to Enterprise Data customers via Data License.

Maureen Gallagher, head of enterprise reference data at Bloomberg, says: “With the introduction of Bloomberg’s Funds Data Solution, customers can now access their fixed income, equities, derivatives and funds data in one place, making it easier to devise investment strategies, evaluate performance, support compliance workflows and more.”
