Data platform and technology provider Lantern Limited has launched a new range of fund and portfolio monitoring products for the private equity industry.
The company has developed the suite in response to private equity firms’ focus on improving their operational processes and overall performance. By providing data-driven insights to the market, Lantern states that its products will help managers reap the most benefits from their funds and portfolio companies.
Lantern’s fund monitoring platform provides clients with performance dashboards displaying investment transactions, operational metrics and critical key performance indicators including know-your-customer, net asset values and distributed to paid-in capital data points.
The company’s portfolio monitoring service automates data collection and validation for general partners, granting access to insights and enhanced decision-making information on a firm-wide scale.
Edward Moore, founder and CEO of Lantern, says: “Over recent years, we’ve seen a significant uptick in fundraising which is driving an increasingly competitive market. Combined with the macroeconomic headwinds that our clients are now experiencing, we are seeing many firms pause and reflect on the levers they can pull to drive fund and portfolio performance.
“In a data-rich environment, optimising the management and use of data is increasingly seen as critical for each step of the investment process. Lantern puts technology and tailored private equity data analytics, that were previously the preserve of the very largest managers, within the grasp of every private equity firm.
“We believe that by breaking down data silos, augmenting data where additive and by making data more accessible and transparent we can deliver better understanding, support better decision making and ultimately drive enhanced performance for private equity firms and their investors.”
Ronan Shally, partner and chief financial officer at Highland Europe, a growth investor in the company, comments: “We’ve seen first-hand the speed at which the software has developed. Lantern’s technology has given us access to fund-level data and insights, through an intuitive platform. It’s the start of something that could be a game-changer in the market.”
