Apex Group has partnered with digital asset solutions, custody and brokerage provider Crypto Finance Group to provide institutional-grade crypto products to the market. Clients will be able to securely issue their own digital asset investment products, with the first expected to be launched in Q2 2023.

Apex will add Crypto Finance’s digital assets infrastructure to its existing products around the administration of structured product issuance. Crypto Finance will benefit from reduced counterparty risk through Apex’s operation of a Swiss independent securitisation special purpose vehicle.

Crypto Finance, a part of Deutsche Börse Group, offers an integrated platform for digital asset investment, management and storage. The first of the firm’s digital asset market infrastructures to be made available will be an issuance programme for structured products backed by digital assets.

The collaboration comes in response to a strong growth outlook for crypto-related assets, which will in turn cause an increased demand for crypto-related investment products, Apex says.

The announcement follows Apex’s launch of the Women’s Accelerator Network, and external expansion of its Women’s Accelerator Programme. The initiative aims to reduce gender disparity around mid and senior management in the industry.

Commenting on the partnership with Crypto Finance, Bruce Jackson, chief of digital asset funds and business at Apex, says: “Crypto Finance shares our understanding of the importance of creating a robust institutional framework to meet the needs and regulatory obligations of institutional investors.

"Today’s announcement is an important next step in our global strategy of institutionalising digital markets, enabling institutional capital to access this digital asset class within the same secure and regulated framework they are familiar with from the traditional financial markets.”

Jan Brzezek, founder and CEO of Crypto Finance, adds: “Our two companies ideally complement each other to build out institutional-grade infrastructure in this new asset class. The partnership with Apex combines the expertise in our respective fields to offer professional investors trusted partners to help them set up their crypto-related investment products.”
