Fennel adopts Eventus’ Validus platform

Mobile investing app Fennel Financials (Fennel) has selected multi-asset class market risk solutions provider Eventus to provide its trade surveillance and anti-money laundering capabilities.

Fennel, launched in November 2022, is an ESG-centred platform that gives retail investors access to companies’ ESG impacts through easy-to-understand data. By using Eventus’ Validus platform, Fennel’s reputation for compliance will be improved, the company says.

Jenn Gatherer, chief compliance officer at Fennel, says: “We will evolve as the landscape evolves, and Validus enables us to do that. Having a customisable, automated trade surveillance platform is imperative for a real compliance programme.”

“We can tweak reports to our liking, and that ability to act independently or with Validus support is really powerful. Knowing what I need to find and then refining the requirements as we learn how our customers trade makes us significantly more effective.”

Travis Schwab, CEO of Eventus, comments: “We are delighted to provide the backbone for Fennel’s trade surveillance programme as the firm grows its business. It’s exciting to continually expand into new and creative use cases in equity and other asset classes as our clients chart new territory and financial markets evolve.”
